Adwords Management

Friday, April 8th, 2011

If you are wishing that your PPC marketing campaigns should perform better then run a small checklist to see if you are still on the right track.
Do You Split-Test & Check Your Ads on a Daily Basis?

A minor change like adding a character can go a long way in inceasing the CTR of a performing ad to make it perform really well.

Do you have a targeted and relevant ad for every keyword that you bid on?

Do you use Dynamic Keywords?

Are you putting a broad match for all the keywords? Do you use “Phrase” or “Exact” Match” where it fits?

Have you removed ‘negative keywords’ or those that invite unnecessary traffic to your site?

Is the Landing page (the page that you want visitors to come to when they click on the ad) full of quality information, rich in keywords, and does it relate specifically to the offer featured in the ad ?

To get results with your published ads fine-tune the Adwords campaign on a daily basis. If you are not doing this  then maybe it is time to outsource management of your adwords campaign!!

Improve Adwords Performance

Some ways to improve your adwords performance:

Get the keywords right : Add value to the keywords used. Adding words like coupon, discount or saving can boost your ads’ performance.

Make the ad groups  targeted and relevant: Divide the campaign in terms of relevancy they offer.

Eliminate the irrelevant: Wrong  keywords result in costly traffic NOT  looking to buy. Keywords are the foundation of the campaign – get them right and you may save a lot of marketing $$$ s

Make it easy to BUY: Keep landing page guidelines in mind along with aesthetics. Make it really simple for the visitor to identify what they want and to easily make the purchase. Offer only information that is relevant to the buying process. Do not overload.

Make ads specific: By the time people are ready to click on your ad, they know what they want.Add the right details to make the ad specific. If adding the price,  color, size etc makes a difference then let the ad reflect it.

Use the right Tools: Use the right metrics to see what is working and what is not. Remove the unnecessary. It does not have to be complicated to perform better. Use tracking tools to see which keywords and ads are performing better than the others.  Focus on what is working.
