Important Factors of On Page Optimization – SEO

On Page Optimization is the visible part of SEO, that is, all the changes that we are doing on the website are called On Page Optimization. It is nothing much but the optimization techniques that we are using on the website while designing the website to make the website pages friendly to various Search Engines.  Search Engines always provide the most relevant sites to their users for any particular query. Correction of website’s designing mistakes and rewriting the website’s content and Meta tags is what we are doing in On Page Optimization.

The Most Important factors of On Page Optimization, which should keep in mind while starting any SEO campaign, are as follows:

1.) Domain Name – Always try to include the main keyword in your domain name (or URL). It will give your website more chances to come at the top while any user will search any related query.

2.) Content Optimization - Update your website with fresh content. And try to include the keywords in the content. But don’t try to over stuffing the content with keywords but it should be nicely placed where required. The main keywords should be placed in the headlines or in the title of the webpage.

3.) Use Different Titles for all the web pages – Title tag is the most important sentence on any webpage. It gives the indication to various search engines that what your web page is all about. So include your main keywords or search phrases in title tags of the WebPages. Never use the same titles for all the WebPages of the site. Titles should be different for all WebPages.

4.) Description Tag – As that of title tag, description tag is also the most important paragraph of any webpage. Include the important keywords in the description tag that you think people will use when searching for your website.

5.) Keyword Research and Analysis – You should do a lot of research while selecting keywords for your website.  Take help from any good keyword research tool like adwords. Try to select keywords with less competition and high search volume in various search engines. One thing to keep in mind that it should not be keyword stuffing (excessive keywords) as it consider spammy by Search Engines. So try to select less but the most appropriate keywords for your website and concentrate on them.

6.)    Text Decoration – Decorating the website content will help the search engines to identify your website while giving any search result. Use various HTML tags like <h1></h1>, <h2></h2>, <h3></h3>, <h4></h4>,<h5></h5>,<h6></h6> , <strong>, <em>, <ul> or <ol> , <alt> image tags etc,  to decorate your content.

7.) Webpage Naming – Instead of using names to your website files that is no matter with your website like page1.html, page2.html etc. Include your website’s keywords in the file names.  The reason behind this is that the search engines highlights the search term while displaying the result. So it increases the chances of your website to come up in the search engine result pages.

8.)    Site Map – Sitemap is the most important page in any website. A sitemap defines as a page that has the text links to all the pages of your website, that is, it includes all the internal links of your website. Creating sitemap help the users as well as search engine robots to reach or visit the required page. The most important thing to remember is to make a link to sitemap from your home page and from the other important pages of your site. It’s also important to get all your pages indexed. So sitemap plays an important role in getting your website indexed by search engine robot.  There are two types of sitemaps: one is HTML sitemap and the other one is basically for search engine robots, that is, XML sitemap.
